RTR Teacher Residency is proud to be a member of the National Center for Teacher Residencies (NCTR), a national organization dedicated to transforming educator preparation by advancing the teacher residency movement.

NCTR supports educator preparation programs as they develop, launch, sustain, and grow high-quality residency programs. Through its national network, NCTR provides programs with opportunities to learn from one another, strengthen their practices, access research and data, and build the capacity needed to prepare and retain effective educators.

NCTR’s Mission

Our mission is to transform educator preparation by advancing the teacher residency movement to prepare, support, and retain more effective educators who represent and value the communities they serve.

As a member of the NCTR Network, RTR is connected to a national movement committed to reimagining how teachers enter and remain in the profession. This partnership allows RTR to learn from innovative residency programs across the country while contributing our own experiences as Virginia’s longest-standing teacher residency program.

Through this connection, RTR continues to strengthen our approach to educator preparation, mentorship, school partnerships, recruitment, and teacher retention.
