  • Undergraduate Applicants
    • After your application is submitted, your transcripts will be reviewed based on your teaching interest.
    • VCU School of Education faculty will review your transcript to ensure that you have a 3.0 GPA.

Interview

  • If you are qualified to move forward based on the transcript review, once all of your references have been submitted, you will receive an invitation to sign up for a virtual Zoom interview with our RTR residency coordinators.
  • During the interview, you will respond to interview questions focused on your desire to teach in the high-needs setting as well as qualities you will bring to the program.
  • During the interview, you will also teach something for a total of 5 minutes. You get to choose what you would like to teach. This can be a lesson you would teach to your future students; how to knit a hat; how to make a bed; anything that you feel confident in teaching the interviewers.
  • Please note that the interview window closes within two weeks of the application deadline to provide time for accepted candidates to then apply to VCU
