Transcript Review
- Graduate Applicants
- After your application is submitted, your transcripts will be reviewed based on your teaching interest.
- VCU School of Education faculty will review your transcript to ensure that you have a 3.0 GPA (or a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 in the last 60 hours of your Bachelor’s) and that you have taken the prerequisite coursework needed for teacher licensure.
- You will be notified if you need additional coursework for your program of interest or if you are not qualified to move forward due to not having the required GPA or prerequisite coursework.
- Undergraduate Transfer Applicants
- The VCU Transfer Center will review your transcript to ensure that you have an associate’s degree and a 2.5 GPA.
- If eligible to transfer, School of Education faculty will then review your transcript based on your teaching interest.
- You will be notified if you need additional coursework for your program of interest or if you are not qualified to move forward due to not having the required degree or GPA.
- Current VCU Undergraduate Applicants

- During the interview, you will respond to interview questions focused on your desire to teach in the high-needs setting as well as qualities you will bring to the program.
